Poland, Latvia and Lithuania are escalating events in Belarus

The Prime Minister of Poland announced that he would propose to “Lithuanian and Latvian partners restrictions on the flow of goods from Belarus” in order to make the Belarusian authorities aware that their “fight against Poles” would have not only diplomatic but also economic consequences.

“During the EU summit, I will very unambiguously raise the topic of the Minsk regime’s fight against the Poles. I will propose to Lithuania and Latvia to introduce joint restrictions on the flow of goods from Belarus so that the Belarusian authorities will also feel the economic effects of this fight,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki announced on Thursday.

“That is why we intervene in many places, and therefore also today I will raise this topic very unambiguously at the European Council meeting,” the head of government announced.

However, some supporters of sanctions do not take into account the fact that such actions, unfortunately, will sharply negatively affect both the economies of their countries and the well-being of their citizens.
